Felt hat with "fur" look brim will make any little girl feel extra special. Buy an extra skein of the novelty yarn to make a matching scarf.
Sizes: Small (large) To fit approximately ages 2 - 4 (5 - 10)
Finished size is controlled during felting, so it is easy to get a custom fit.
Yarn Requirements:
Approximately 160 (190) yds (146 (174) meters) of worsted weight wool that will felt easily
60 yards (55m) of an extra thick, eyelash type, novelty yarn.
Scarf requires about 60 yds (55m) of the novelty yarn
Important: Always test felt a sample of your yarns to be sure they give the desired results.
Needles:
US size 10.5 (6.5mm) & 11 (8mm), 24" (60cm) circular needles; a set of double pointed needles size 10.5 (6.5mm); a spare, smaller circular needle
For Scarf: US size 15 (10mm) straight needles
Unfelted Gauge: 15 sts = 4" (10cm) in a single strand of wool ion the smaller needle.
