Fun and a little nutty, this acorn hat can be made plain or bordered with fall leaves. 3 sizes for "kids" of all ages.
Sizes: Sm, Med, and Lg. To fit head size up to 19" (20½", 22½").
Elastic may be sewn into band if needed to fit a smaller size.
Yarn Requirements: Yarn that will knit to a gauge of 5 sts to 1".
3-color hat: 50 (60, 70) yards of color A (band & leaves), 40 (50, 55) yards of color B (body of acorn), and 45 (55, 60) yards of color C (top of acorn).
2-color hat: 80 (90, 100) yards of color B, 45 (55, 60) of color C.
Needles: 16" (40 cm) circulars, sizes 8 and 6 (5 & 4 mm) and a set of double pointed needles in size 6 (4 mm).
Gauge: 20 sts = 4" (10 cm)
