Learn to create short rows within the body of your knitting. This technique allows you to shape your knitting without seams.
We will learn short rows on both garter and stockinette fabric and how to “hide” the turning stitch to make them virtually invisible along with other tips and tricks to make you feel comfortable with this versatile method. Once we make our practice swatch we will cast on for the scarf.
Included in the class is a pattern for the “As long as you like it” ruffle scarf as well as a resource list of other free patterns that include short rows.
Knitting knowledge:
Techniques from K101 and K102 (cast on, knit, purl, bind off)
Materials:
100 yards smooth, light colored, worsted weight practice yarn for swatching, 300 yards worsted weight yarn for scarf; size 8 needles and 2 stitch markers
