In this class you will learn the technique of double knitting, which creates a double-layered, reversible fabric. We'll be making the Valentine scarf, which is red with a green heart on one side and green with a red heart on the other. (Or whichever colors you choose!) The pattern will be provided as part of the class. You'll also learn how to read a double knitting chart, how to troubleshoot problems, and how to create your own double knitting patterns.
Prerequisites: knit, purl, cast on, bind off.
Materials:
- Scrap yarn (two colors) and appropriate needles for swatching
- Two skeins worsted weight yarn (about 200 yards each and in two different colors) and appropriate needles
[side note -- I really enjoyed making it with Cascade 220 and Noro Silk Garden! It's cool to watch the colors change.]
