Level: IntermediateCreate a neckband and then learn to pick of stitches to start the helmet. Learn basic grafting techniques, different types of increases and decreases and shaping techniques to make the ears on this hat.
You can make different sizes of this hat by varying the yarn and the needles you use.
Knitting knowledge:
Techniques from K101 and K102 (cast on, knit, purl, bind off)
Materials:
Child’s Size: 130 yards of smooth light worsted weight yarn, size 8 circular needles in 16” or 24” size, and stitch markers
Adult Size: 130 yards bulky wool (about 3 stitches per inch), size 10 circular needles in 16” or 24” size, and stitch markers
